As an introduction, I thought i'd provide a quick and clear explanation of what this blog will be about. But first, a little about me. As the title of this blog may suggest, I'm a fairly normal guy. I'm in my early 20's, and live with my brothers right off campus near the University we attend. I'm studying towards a law degree, but that's a bit of a way away. For the time being, when I'm not focused on school I am either taking part in sports teams I captain (intramural hockey, volleyball, and ultimate) or playing video games.
I'll clarify right away, I'm not all about gaming. I'm not particularly the best at the games I play, but I do enjoy them. As being a college student is expensive, I was hoping to make a few cents off this newfangled google adsense and thought, "what could I write about?" I like video games, they've been a part of my life since I was young (back to my first NES, and Tiger handheld games), and I figure I may get a more lively crowd of readers than if I wrote about case-law or something a bit more dry.
So, with this blog I will post videos, pictures, and blog posts centralized around gaming culture, and more specifically the games I'm playing at the time. Why should you be reading what some average guy has to say when there are better sources of video game news? Well, if you're looking for hard hitting video game journalism and up to date previews you better look elsewhere. But if you're looking for an average joe shmoe who might have an occasional funny quip or an interesting clip, I'm your man.
Really, I like reading articles posted by big video game websites but they tend to feel a bit distant. I don't feel like I'm hearing from an individual, and instead feel like i'm having a Wal*Mart customer service representative explain why they love Wal*Mart so much. I think that sometimes another perspective is something to appreciate, and as such, this blog may be a fresh read for you, the reader. I'm just an everyday guy with a perspective on video games that you, likely another normal person, might identify with.
Lately I've mostly been playing League of Legends and World of Warcraft. (But it's not unlikely that I'll randomly pick back up any of the following: Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Star Craft 2, Minecraft, Terraria, Counterstrike, Skyrim, and so many more in my gaming collection) -- So you've got commentary on those to look forward to.
